NLIT believes that the responsible use of personal information collected from our clients is critical to our business objectives and reputation. As part of our commitment to privacy protection, we have adopted this Privacy Statement.
General
Personal information which a client business or individual supplies (“client”) is collected by NLIT for use in connection with conducting our business activities. Such uses include matters related to the response to enquiry forms, the provision of training products or services, news updates and administration. Information provided in surveys is used for statistical and evaluation purposes.
Sources of Personal Data, Clients’ Right to Notice and Choice
NLIT collects information about clients from variety of sources such as, but not limited to enquiries, registrations, surveys, correspondence, by telephone and facsimile, by email, via our website www.nlit.com.my, from publicly available information in print media or the Internet, and from our project partners. When personal data is received through business card exchange or enquiry on initiative of the client we consider this to constitute consent by the client to be included in our database and mailing list. In cases where we rely on our project partners as sources of personal data, NLIT is not liable for the manner of the initial collection and processing of that data by our partners.
We endeavor to notify clients of their privacy rights and provide them with options to exercise their choice as to the extent of data processing. You can exercise your choice by contacting us in writing (See section ‘Withdrawal of Consent to Process Personal Data’)
Disclosure
As a rule, NLIT will not disclose clients’ personal information to external parties, other than for a purpose made clear to the client and to which the client has given explicit or implicit consent.
Please note that the information submitted by clients may be disclosed to NLIT’s project partners or third party service providers who provide training, administrative, telecommunications, computer or other auxiliary services, necessary for the main business activities of NLIT. In such cases we take precautionary steps to ensure that your personal data is handled with due confidentiality by our partners and subcontractors.
In circumstances prescribed by the law of the land, personal data may also be disclosed to government authorities in the public interest or to prevent a crime.
Security
When processing your personal data, we take all foreseeable practical steps to protect the data from any loss, misuse, modification, unauthorised or accidental access or disclosure, alteration or destruction. This includes security measures pertaining to the storage, location, access, transfer and integrity of the personnel that handles your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Where processing of personal data is carried out by third party service providers on behalf of NLIT, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the service provider gives sufficient guarantees in respect of the technical and organizational security measures for the data processing to be carried out.
Retention of Personal Data
The personal data processed shall be kept as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or for purposes which have been communicated to the client and to which he/she has given consent. You can request in writing at any point in time to have your personal data deleted, or to opt out of NLIT’s services, partially or completely. Instructions how to submit the request can be found at the end of this Statement.
Data Integrity
It is an important part of providing our services to you that your personal information is up to date. NLIT may, at times, take reasonable steps to verify that your personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
Access to Your Personal Data
You can obtain access to your personal data held by NLIT and correct that personal data where the personal data is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or not up-to-date.
Changes to this Privacy Statement
NLIT reserves the right to make amendments to this Privacy Statement at any time. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here. If you have objections to the Privacy Statement, you should not access or use this website.
Withdrawal of Consent to Process Personal Data
You may, by notice in writing, withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal information. NLIT shall, upon receiving the notice, cease the processing of the personal data.
To unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing list at any point in time send an e-mail with the subject title ‘UNSUBSCRIBE’ to nlit@netlabs.com.my. Your personal data may be stored in our system for reference purposes.
To request that your personal data is deleted in its entirety from our system send us an e-mail with the subject ‘DELETE’ to nlit@netlabs.com.my.
